4R, A4 and Letter describe the paper that holds the copies. A measurement such as 35 × 45 mm or 2 × 2 inches describes each individual photo. Choose both correctly because changing the paper size does not change the required passport photo dimensions.

A passport photo has its own physical dimensions, such as 35 × 45 mm or 2 × 2 inches. The paper has a different measurement, such as 4R or A4. The workbench uses both values when it calculates the grid, so changing the paper does not silently change the selected photo profile.

If you are preparing a different country or application, check the current instructions first. A country page can guide the photo profile, but the receiving authority decides whether a physical print, a digital upload or a particular background is required.

Selecting A4 does not turn a passport photo into A4 size. It places correctly sized copies onto an A4 sheet.

Spacing creates room between neighbouring copies, while cut guides show where each photo can be trimmed after printing. These settings help with cutting the sheet without changing the physical dimensions of the passport photo itself.

Check the preview carefully if you change margins or spacing because the number of copies that fit on the paper can change.

Use the final photo you actually want to print rather than a screenshot of the editor or a copy that has passed through a messaging app. The same source file will be repeated across the sheet, so any blur, wrong crop or incorrect dimensions will appear in every copy.

Confirm the required physical photo size before arranging the sheet. If you are still changing the crop, background or dimensions, finish those steps first and return here when the individual photo is ready.

The exported result contains the selected number of copies on the selected paper canvas. Each copy uses the same photo dimensions, the chosen spacing and the selected border and cut guide settings. The preview is a scaled view for your screen, while the downloaded file contains the full paper canvas for printing.

A correct digital file can still produce the wrong physical photo size if the printer scales the sheet. The printer setting therefore matters just as much as the layout file.

Some printers cannot print all the way to the edge of the paper. Keep the sheet inside the printable area shown by your printer or use a supported borderless setting when the layout requires it.

Before downloading, check the selected photo size, paper size, number of copies, spacing and cut guides together. Save that finished sheet and print the same file instead of rebuilding the layout in another application.

Keep the original single photo separately. If you later need another paper size or a different number of copies, create a new sheet from that original rather than using a photo cropped out of the previous sheet.
